Wapango, with its bold, modern design, highlights the perimeter of Chesterfield Mall like a jewel box.  The interior’s bright color palette and interesting architectural features are a natural foil for the original South American artwork that adorns walls throughout the restaurant.

The restaurant features a large private dining room, as well as a semi-private area that overlooks the lobby and bar.  Alfresco dining is also an option on Wapango’s patio.

Wapango’s comfortable and stylish bar area invites patrons to sip a mojito, sample appetizers and relax with friends.

John Gianoulis helped design, develop and open Wapango in the fall of 2006 to rave reviews. John is a veteran restaurateur with a keen sense of operations excellence and a knack for treating family like Guests and Guests like family. His vision for Wapango has positioned the restaurant to be an integral part of the community and a place where everyone feels welcomed. He believes in providing value and memorable experiences that create regulars after the first visit.

Steve Monroe joined Wapango in 2007 and brought his wide array of culinary experience and operations excellence to the kitchen. Steve is a hands-on working chef who enjoys creating dishes that are as enjoyable to look at as they are wonderful to eat.

All of the breads and desserts at Wapango are made in house by Pastry Chef Mary Harden. Her style is traditional with a slant towards the unique. Fresh Cuban-style rolls, Cheesecake, Chocolate Fritters, and Plantain Mousse-filled Chocolate Crepes are but a few of her specialties. She will also bake nearly anything you desire with advance notice such as our fabulous Cuatro Leches Cake.
